Demons of Japanese folklore, Oni are a type of yōkai present in Japanese art, literature, and theater. Their appearance diverges, but they usually have a humanoid shape, gigantic size, sharp claws, two protruding horns growing from their foreheads, disheveled hair, and an appearance that could be described as hideous. These demons are known for their ferocity and malevolence which manifests itself in murder and cannibalism.
